Granada and Cádiz do not celebrate the ‘day of Andalusia’

Granada and Cádiz celebrated the ‘day of Andalusia’ with a goalless draw at the Nuevo Los Cármenes, a result that keeps the two teams in the lower part of the table, the locals four points from relegation, whose border is marked precisely the visitors, who missed a great opportunity to win, as they played an hour in numerical superiority due to the expulsion of Domingos Duarte.

The first 45 minutes were free of quality. The qualifying urgencies of both teams were noted on the pitch, to which the tactical disposition of both had to be added, with a very similar scheme, in which the defense of five members on each side stood out. The parameters, then, did not bode well, as it happened.

Without a clear dominator of the ball, with a little more possession of it by Granada, the duel started with a scare for Robert Moreno’s team, since in the 3rd minute a faulty backward transfer by Domingos Duarte almost be taken advantage of by Negredo, but Maximiano was attentive and managed to ‘steal’ the ball when the ‘shark’ tried to dribble it.

Without dangerous opportunities in both areas, although with a greater sense of depth for the people of Cádiz, in the 33rd minute came what could be the key action of the match. Germán badly passed the ball to his teammate Domingos Duarte, Negredo was attentive and took the leather and the Portuguese knocked him down when he faced the rival frame. Red card without discussion and Granada was left with ten in the absence of an hour of play.

Until the break Cádiz did not know how to take advantage of its numerical superiority, being the Nasrid team the one that had its first option in a shot by Collado that Ledesma cleared. With 0-0, the intermission was reached.

After passing through the locker room, and with Machís instead of Uzuni, Cádiz continued to give a feeling of greater danger, but without finding ways of access to Maximiano. For this reason, after a quarter of an hour Sergio González began to move the bench and put in two wide players (Iza Carcelén and Iván Alejo) for Akapo and Fali.

Cádiz’s dominance was ‘in crescendo’ with the passing of the minutes and in the same action, Negredo ran into Maximiano and the subsequent shot by Iván Alejo went wide. Shortly after, Iza Carcelén would put the local goalkeeper in trouble again.

Granada defended itself like a cat belly up against the siege of the Cadiz people, already with all the artillery in the green (Álex Fernández, Alberto Perea and Rubén Sobrino), while Robert Moreno entrusted himself to ‘grandfather’ Jorge Molina in the final challenge of the shock.

Cádiz kept looking for the goal until the last breath. Having the ball in his possession (60%), however, did not translate into a prize and, despite playing an hour with one more footballer, he was only able to score one point in his visit to Nuevo Los Cármenes, which he dismissed with whistles to his trainer Robert Moreno.
