The federations that make up the so-called Task Force for the Promotion of Sport (GTID), including the RFEF and the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), represented by its president, Alejandro Blanco, have held a meeting at the highest level on Monday afternoon with the minister, the Secretary of State for Sports, Irene Lozano, and the general director of the CSD, Joaquín de Arístegui, with the aim of finding a common protocol for the return of professional competitions with a common protocol against COVID-19.
After the meeting, in which the Government has not expressed itself about when the public will be able to return to the stadiums, which does not seem to be possible until next year. Both the federations that have intervened in the meeting and the ministerial officials have agreed to convey their intention, which they will do this Tuesday at the meeting scheduled with the representatives of each of the autonomies. The idea is to recover the different national competitions as soon as possible, but with a safe and common rule for all.
“It is necessary that the competitions be resumed in adequate conditions of health and hygiene. For this reason, It is necessary to have a sanitary protocol that allows the celebration of sports competitions at a state level, preserving the health of athletes. This protocol should have the approval of the Ministry of Health “, indicated the Platform of Athletes' Associations through a statement a few hours before the ministerial meeting in which, indeed, it has been agreed to follow a common standard for the entire national territory .
