Girona returns to the path of victory against an inferior Valladolid

MADRID 20 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Girona beat Real Valladolid (3-0) this Friday at the start of matchday 18 of LaLiga EA Sports, a peaceful match for Míchel’s team in Montilivi and a victory that returns the Catalans to the path of victory after two defeats and a draw in the League.

The local team enjoyed it and so did their fans against a rival in a worse crisis even though they had just won. Pucela was very far from continuing its agonizing victory over Valencia against a Girona that knew how to react and avoid surprises to win after six games without doing so, with the Cup and the Champions League.

Valladolid’s only shot on goal was around the 70th minute, a good shot by Mario Martín that was taken by local goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga. The rest was from Girona, the possession, the chances and the solidity to avoid the arrival of Diego Cocca’s weak debut on the Castilian bench.

Local dominance turned into goals shortly before half-time, two that came almost in a row. Between Miguel Gutiérrez and David López they made it 1-0, a free kick that bounced off the barrier and scored, and Abel Ruiz headed in a cross from the side to make it 2-0. Girona lived comfortably and was able to leave with a higher income.

In the second half, the impotence of Valladolid reaffirmed Míchel’s much superior team, wanting to add a victory that had eluded them for a month. After the Pucelana chance, Bryan Gil had the third, with a save from Karl Hein, but the changes made a little more of a difference.

Arnaut Danjuma made the sentence for a Girona that said goodbye to its historic 2024, revelation of last season and in the Champions League, with a clear victory that returns it to the fight for the European zone of the table. Meanwhile, Cocca may think that this is not his war, but also that he needs a major turnaround to get Valladolid out of relegation, four points away and with one more game.
