MADRID, 22 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Barça Femení coach, Jonatan Giráldez, praised his players’ game this Saturday for the victory (0-1) against Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals, despite the fact that they could “score more goals” in London.
“I think we did an incredible job. We knew it would be a difficult game. We know they like to play long, look for second play, transition. We stopped them many times during the game and avoided those types of transitions,” he said after the match in statements collected by UEFA.
The coach of the Catalans highlighted the good game of theirs to look for chances, although the only one that came in was Graham Hansen’s early one, after four minutes. “We had patience with the ball and many chances. Maybe we could score a few more goals but we won and everything is open for the return,” he said.
On the other hand, Giráldez was calm due to a possible injury to Bronze, who was replaced in the 67th minute by Marta Torrejón. “Bronze felt pain in his knee but he’s fine right now, I was talking to her right after the match. He was scared at first but I think he’s fine,” he finished.
