Gerrard misses Boxing Day after testing positive for Covid-19

Bad news for Aston Villa. Steven Gerrard, his coach and charm since his arrival, has tested positive for coronavirus and therefore will not be able to be on Boxing Day, missing the team’s next two games.

In particular, the rivals that the villains will face without their coach are Chelsea and Leeds. “Aston Villa can confirm that head coach Steven Gerrard will not be able to attend our next two Premier League matches against Chelsea and Leeds as he is isolated after testing positive for Covid-19,” the club said in a statement.

For now, Gerrard’s positive does not seem to affect the dispute in the match against Chelsea ahead of Boxing Day, from which Liverpool-Leeds, Wolves-Watford and Burnley-Everton have already been suspended.
