Steven Gerrard already has his fourth signing. After the arrivals of Coutinho, Digne and Olsen, the next to land at Villa Park is defender Calum Chambers (27 years old).
The defender, who can play both defensively and right-back, arrives from Arsenal and has signed for the remainder of the season and another three more.
Chambers’ contract ended on June 30 and Villa have benefited from this by not having to pay practically anything to sign him.

The English defender hardly counted for Mikel Arteta. This course he has only played five games, two in the Premier and three in the League Cup, where he has scored a goal.
winter moved
Aston Villa has thrown the rest in this winter market. After the arrival of Steven Gerrard on the bench, the Birmingham club has hired four players in order to progress and fight for European competition places.
Together with Chambers, Philippe Coutinho, on loan from Barcelona with a purchase option, Lucas Digne, for whom almost 30 million euros were paid, and goalkeeper Robin Olsen, on loan from Roma, they have to provide a plus of quality to fight for Europe.
Right now, Aston Villa is eleventh in the table with 26 points, eleven behind West Ham, a team that would enter the Europa League.
