Geoffrey Soupe storms the Oliva sprint to win the seventh stage of La Vuelta

The French cyclist Geoffrey Soupe (TotalEnergies) has achieved victory in the sprint in the seventh stage of the 78th edition of the Vuelta España 2023, disputed over 201 kilometers between Utiel and Oliva, while his compatriot Lenny Martínez (Groupama-FDJ) maintains the lead in the general classification.

On a day marked by the breakaway of the Spaniards José Herrada (Cofidis) and Ander Okamika (Burgos-BH) and falls, such as the one that affected Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers), the Frenchman was the fastest, giving the surprise and achieving the biggest victory of his career.
