Galatasaray thinks about the signing of Sergio Rico

Uruguayan international Fernando Muslera will not be able to play for at least the next six months; that is, half of the 2020/21 season will be lost. Therefore, the management of the lions has begun to think of three foreign goalkeepers to protect their goal without problem until Muslera plays again.

One of the three candidates is Beto, the former Sevilla goalkeeper who has been wearing the Turkish Goztepe shirt for three years. His contract ends at the end of the season and he has not reached an agreement so far for the renewal with his club. Beto told AS that he heard many things from the interest of Galatasaray, in addition to another from Turkey, Besiktas., but nobody called him in the last days.

Galatasaray's other option is Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico. Rico has been on loan at PSG since the start of the season. The Spanish club does not have him for the next campaign.

Galatasaray and Seville have a good relationship due to the exchange of footballers in recent years. Brazilian midfielder Fernando was traded from Galatasaray last summer and the Turkish club signed Mariano, the Brazilian right back, in the summer of 2017. Galatasaray had yielded to French left back Carole to Sevilla two years before.

First, Galatasaray demands to obtain the transfer of Rico for one season. From this point of view an assignment seems feasible for both two clubs. Sergio Rico charges 2 million euros net per year. Galatasaray will negotiate with the representatives of the goalkeeper, Miguel Alfaro and Loren del Pino.

Galatasaray's third option is a compatriot of Muslera

The substitute goalkeeper of the Uruguayan team Martín Campaña, which plans to leave the Independent, Galatasaray is also in orbit, but there is no advanced negotiation so far. Campaign may leave the Argentine club on loan.

On the other hand, former Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is on the Besiktas list, as reported by the Turkish press. The Chilean contract ends this month.
