Gael Monfils signs for Artengo for five years

MADRID, 10 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

French tennis player Gaël Monfils, number 21 on the ATP World Tour, will play with the shoes, rackets and textiles of Decathlon’s tennis brand, Artengo, for the next five years, the sports equipment design and distribution company reported in a statement.

With this new collaboration, Artengo “is positioned at the highest level, forging a long-term relationship of trust with a figure that promotes the brand and tennis throughout the world,” it says in the note.

With Oliver Marach, the 2018 Australian Open Men’s Doubles Champion, and technical partners like Steve Darcis or future promises and champions, Artengo has taken its first steps in terms of performance and products.

The desire to establish itself as one of the leading brands in the world of elite competition had to materialize through a powerful choice. For this reason, the brand sought to associate itself with a character “recognized, bold, authentic, with an infinite passion for sport, even beyond the tennis courts” such as Gaël Monfils.

Trust, proximity and transparency are the three pillars on which the new collaboration between the brand and the French player is based. “For me, it is more than a collaboration, it is really living it 100%. That is the most important thing,” said Monfils.

“This association is not based solely on sponsorship. We want to go further, in particular, in the part of co-creation.

We want to collaborate 100% with the Gaël team and around the future aspect of our products, “said Cyril Perrin, Head of the Artengo brand.

TR960 CONTROL TOUR: THE RACKET OF CHOICE FOR MONFILS

During the first meetings between Gaël Monfils and the Artengo team, it was the TR960 racket that convinced the French tennis player.

This product, available from Decathlon, was initially designed for expert tennis players looking for control and precision.

Gaël Monfils and the Artengo team have worked on a new design for this racket: TR960 Control Tour 18×20, which combines maneuverability and power, with a slim profile and a flexible frame to maintain control of the ball.

This model can be seen in their next matches at the Australian Open, the first ‘Grand Slam’ of the season, and which will be available at Decathlon in mid-2022.
