Fuenlabrada issued a new official statement on Sunday. “Given the situation created by the coronavirus outbreak that arose within this Club, which led to the postponement of its match against RC Deportivo, CF Fuenlabrada wants to record:
-In no case do we feel responsible for the unfortunate problem that has arisen on the final day of the Second Division but one of its main victims, since it has come to truncate the illusion of finding a place in the phase of promotion to the First Division.
-That we are aware of having strictly followed the protocols and of having followed the instructions that LaLiga has indicated to us at all times, which has not prevented the current situation. That we understand that without any fault we are at the center of a problem that also affects four clubs: Zaragoza, Almería, Girona and Elche. They are also pending their legitimate ambition to play the Promotion Playoff.
-That given the situation created, it is impossible to foresee when and under what conditions the postponed game could be played.
-That the Club regrets being, without guilt, at the center of a situation of great discomfort for the Second Division, category in which he presented this year with the greatest enthusiasm and in which he has played a role above all expectations, of which we are proud, to the point of having reached the last day with many possibilities of entering the phase of ascent.
-That for all this and with the greatest responsibility, for the health reasons of which we are affected, We put ourselves in the hands of sports institutions to find the best solution for those affected by COVID-19 and the competition. We must transfer that both the players and the coaching staff have full disposition to recover and dispute the match if this is estimated.
-In the event that the authorized sports institutions do not consider the match to be viable, in time and form, CF Fuenlabrada will abide by the decision take them.
