Fuels rise up to 30 cents at some ‘low cost’ gas stations after the Government’s announcement

The price of fuel at some service stations low cost of Spain today registers a strong increase, from 15 and 30 cents per liter, coinciding with the Government’s announcement to extend the aid of 20 cents per liter of fuel to all drivers. According to the latest data from EU Oil Bulletinpublished last week, the price of diesel and gasoline registered its first drop so far in 2022. Specifically, the price of gasoline fell by 1.68% in the last week, to 1.81 euros the liter, and that of diesel, 1.10%, up to 1.79 euros.

All in all, at these levels, filling an average 55-litre tank would cost 99.55 euros in the case of gasoline and 98.45 euros for diesel, when exactly one year ago filling the tank cost 72.6 euros and 65.45 euros. euros, respectively.

Transport aid

The transport sector will receive an injection of more than 1,000 million euros between the bonus of 20 cents per liter refueled and 450 million in direct aid with the aim of covering liquidity needs caused by the temporary increase in energy and fuel.

Today Sánchez has advanced the specific aid, it will be 1,250 euros per truck, 900 euros per bus or 300 euros per light vehicle (taxis, ambulances…). In addition, the refund of the hydrocarbon tax will be shortened from three months to one.
