From now on, the name of Brenda Fruhvirtova will have to be taken into account on the women's circuit for years to come. The Czech, just 13 years old, beat her compatriot Katerina Siniakova, 54th in the world ranking, during an exhibition tournament in the Czech Republic.
The young player also won Siniakova in two sets (7-6 and 6-1), who reached the round of 16 at Roland Garros last year and is the Federation Cup champion with a leading role in 2018.
Brenda Fruhvirtova turns 13 today:
2017 – Eddie Herr U12 champion
2018 – Open Super Auray U12 champion
2018 – Eddie Herr U14 champion
2019 – Lost 7-5 in the third v. WTA # 58 Katerina Siniakova in the Czech Extraligue
2020 – Les Petits As U14 champion ???? pic.twitter.com/1Zcb0aYEeO– Bastien Fachan (@BastienFachan) April 2, 2020
For the most staunch tennis fans, Fruhvirtova is not a totally unknown name. In February the Czech won the Little Aces tournament, the world championship for players under the age of 14. In the record he succeeded his own sister, Linda. After the Williams and Pliskova sisters, will the Fruhvirtova now reach the top?
