From the tears of Paloma Rocasolano to “Don’t applaud” the king to Leonor: the anecdotes of the awards

The return of the Princess of Asturias awards in the post-covid era has been a party all the way up Oviedo has had its big day and nobody wanted to miss it. The day, warm for the time, was filled with applause, smiles and emotion, especially that of Dove Rocasolanomother of Doña Letizia, who has burst into tears from the stalls of the Campoamor Theater.

The maternal grandmother of the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía was one of the first to walk the event carpet. She came alone (without her boyfriend, Markus Brandler) and dressed in blue, a nod to the color of the country. Sitting in row 6 of the stalls, she enthusiastically attended the gala and burst into tears when her granddaughter, honorary president of the foundation, has delivered his speech: “I am very proud of her,” Paloma Rocasolano told the media as she left the theater.

And if this has been the emotional anecdote of the day, the funny one has been carried out by the princess of Asturias and his father, the king philip. At the end of the speech, Leonor returned to her chair next to the monarch and accompanied the applause of the audience. A gesture that her father lovingly corrected: “Don’t applaud.” The carefree and natural gesture of the heiress has conquered (more if possible) all her guests.
