From the great naturalness of Morientes to the daisy of Iker Casillas

Frankness. Two former players of the Real Madrid They have attempted the assault on the government offices of football in recent months: Morientes and Casillas. The forward announced his intention to run for the presidency of the AFE, while the goalkeeper did it to that of the Federation. Morientes was encouraged by the division in the soccer union, with resignations such as those of De Gea and Juan Mata, and open confrontations between its president, Aganzo, and some of those who had been his collaborators. The point is that Morientes, after reconsidering and seeing what situation the AFE, he opted for naturalness and frankness and, just as he had publicly announced his candidacy, so he withdrew it. “I am clear, I will not enter the fight to preside over the AFE”, settled.

Contrast. The path that followed Morientes contrasts with the lack of definition that Casillas has taken in the RFEF elections. Iker, who yesterday still claimed to be removing the daisy, announced in February his intention to contest the presidency of Luis Rubiales. He did it with a message to the presidents of the 19 Territories: “Hi, I am Iker Casillas. I want you to know first hand that I will run for the elections. Here is my phone number for whatever you need”. Casillas placed himself in the hands of a PSOE guru, Luis Arroyo, to give him 'an electoral profile'. Arroyo had been an advisor to José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and also of Pedro Sánchez, and managed to get Irene Lozano, President of the Council, to receive Iker in her office at the CSD just 24 hours after being named.

Braking. Just a month after that meeting, on March 8, Iker already had serious doubts about maintaining or dissolving his candidacy. But publicly he insisted on his eagerness to attend the elections. This was confirmed on their social networks. Now, when everything is already an open secret, is waiting for the CSD to authorize the electoral advance in the RFEF to August 17 to finally communicate its decision. Iker will end his contract on June 30 with Porto and will return to Spain. Your next destination will not be alien to you …

The question. Will you announce the UEFA next Wednesday that maintains the League of Nations of Selections but in windows of three matches for each league break?
