From Arancha del Sol to Carmen Lomana: Madrid dresses up in flamenco

The Corral de la Morería dressed up this Monday to deliver the Fearless Flamenco & Diseño 2022 awards last Monday. The event was attended by a large number of familiar faces, such as Isabel Gemio, Arancha del Sol con Finito de Córdoba, Paloma Segrelles y Carmen Lomanaamong many others.










This is the first edition of these awards, organized by the independent art magazine Fearless. Flamenco and design merged in this event as a tribute to wood (a necessary element in both fields), led by the firm Tarimas del Mundo. Flamenco figures such as the bailaor ‘Reel of Malaga’ or the young promise of flamenco the Yiyothe famous guitarist Tito Losada or the designer Rocio PeraltaThey were some of the winners.







The party was closed with the performance of the singer Manuel Lombothe violinist Elena Mikhailova and the bailaor Carrete from Málaga, all of them accompanied by Ivan Losada (guitar) and Ivan Losada Junior (drawer). The final touch was the show of Alfonso Losa y Patricia Guerrero.




The awards are presented within the framework of Flamenco Week, also coinciding with the Raíces exhibition, by the photojournalist Bertie Espinosa, in collaboration with the Leica camera firm, which has made some thirty black and white portraits of flamenco figures and design. Singers like Israel Fernández, Kiki Morente or Marina Carmona; dancers like El Farru, El Polito or El Yiyo; guitarists like Tito Losada, José del Tomate, Diego El Morao or David de Arahal are some of the stars. As well as decorators and interior designers such as Alejandra Pombo, Lorna de Santos, Natalia Zubizarreta, Guillermo de La-Hoz, Jorge Alonso, among others. All have posed with wood as a uniting element and the exhibition can be seen at Tarimas del Mundo on Calle Velázquez, nº 95, until January 2023.
