BARCELONA, 21 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The French power forward Willliam Howard has become a new Joventut Badalona player this Thursday, reaching an agreement with ‘Penya’ for next season, as announced by the club in a statement.
“Howard comes from being champion of the French league with ASVEL Villeurbaune, and has been an important player in the Euroleague with the Lyon team,” explained Joventut. The 2.03 meter power forward can play both 4 and 3 and stands out for his defense and physical ability to help on the rebound.
Also, the Frenchman has good percentages from the line of three. In two seasons at ASVEL Villeurbaune, Howard has just played more than 20 minutes per game in the Euroleague and with some extraordinary numbers in shooting: 48.2 percent in triples, 51.9% in shots from two, and 88, 9% on free throws.
In the last season, the 29-year-old was a key player in the league win against AS Monaco. The Frenchman had a great final with 9.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and a PIR of 13.2, as well as being the best player in the decisive game with 15 points, 9 rebounds and a PIR of 22.
His great state of form has made him part of the French pre-list, among the 17 chosen by the French coach Vincent Collet, for the European Championship of national teams that will be played from September 1 to 18.
