Franco: “The Beijing Olympic Games will once again be a great showcase for Spanish sport”

The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Franco, assured that the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing 2022, which will be held in February and March, “will once again be a great showcase for Spanish sport,” in the 5th Snow Sports Gala, held this Friday at Madrid SnoZone in Arroyomolinos (Madrid).

“I am sure that the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, which will be held in February and March in Beijing, will once again be a great showcase for Spanish sport,” he said at a ceremony in which riders Lucas Eguibar and riders were awarded Queralt Castellet, and former skier Carolina Ruiz, among others.

José Manuel Franco conveyed to the sportsmen of the snow the commitment of the CSD to “continue advancing” in the sporting field and the international projection of their sport, and gave as an example the aid that the Government has summoned, for the first time in history , of 1.1 million euros.

This amount will go to the Spanish sports federations for the preparation of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing and those of 2026 in Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy).
