Up to four national team players can miss the quarterfinals if they see a yellow card against Croatia. Those four players are Jordi Alba, Busquets, Pau Torres and Rodri who have been punished with a card in the three games that the Red has played.
Jordi Alba and Busquets are permanent starters for Luis Enrique who may lose two key players in the event that Spain goes to the quarterfinals, which, in theory, would be against France.
Croatia, for its part, is at risk of sanctioning three players: Marcelo Brozovic, Duje Caleta-Car, Mateo Kovacic.
