Former NBA player Ben McLemore signs for Río Breogán

American guard Ben McLemore, first round of the 2013 NBA Draft, signed this Friday for Río Breogán for his first experience in the Spanish Endesa League.

“Río Breogán has reached an agreement to incorporate the American player Ben Mclemore (Saint Louis, Missouri, February 11, 1993),” announced the Galician team, which is in the relegation zone in the table midway through the season.

McLemore is a 1.96m shooting guard, chosen in seventh position in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings where he played his first four seasons in the NBA. After a season in the Memphis Grizzlies he returns to Sacramento for the 2018/19 campaign.

His NBA career is completed with stints with the Houston Rockets (2019-2021), the Los Angeles Lakers (21 games in the final stretch of the 20-21 season) and Portland, where he plays 64 games in the 2021/22 season.

McLemore also played in China with the Sahndong Hi-Speed ​​Kirin from where he jumped to Europe to join AEK Athens, from where he arrived at Río Breogán, with an average of 9.7 points in the Greek league and 9.2 points in Basketball Champions League with an average of 19 minutes played in both competitions.
