Fluminense wins the Rio Cup on penalties against Flamengo

He Fluminense was proclaimed this Wednesday Rio Cup champion, second phase of the Carioca Championship, defeating on penalties (3-2) the Flamengo after both teams tied 1-1 in regulation time.

With this result, the 'Flu' entered the final of the Carioca Championship, in which he will be measured again and in a double game precisely against his rival tonight in the Maracana, because the “rubro-negro” team was the winner of the first phase of the tournament, the Guanabara Cup.

The final was preceded by a bloody legal battle between both teams for the broadcasting rights of the match in which there was a crossing of statements and disqualifications between the directives.
