MADRID, 29 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Rayo Vallecano confirmed this Friday the transfer of French defender Florian Lejeune for the 2022/23 season from Deportivo Alavés.
Lejeune arrived in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the summer of 2019 on loan from Newcastle United. After having a solid campaign, the Frenchman signed for Alavés with a three-year contract.
The player started in professional football at the age of 20 in the Villarreal subsidiary, at that time in the silver category, and came to play in the First Division with the Submarino first team. He later played for Girona and Eibar, where he became a benchmark under José Luis Mendilibar.
Now, at 31 years old, Florian Lejeune joins Rayo Vallecano after playing 33 games between LaLiga and Copa del Rey last season with Alavés, a team that ended up being relegated to the Second Division.
