Florentino Pérez requests the procedure to call presidential elections at Real Madrid

MADRID, 7 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The current president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, has requested the Merengue club’s Electoral Board “to begin the procedure for calling elections”, both for the presidency itself and to form its Board of Directors.

This was indicated this Tuesday by the Madrid entity in a press release, since Pérez has made said request “after hearing the Board of Directors” and “in accordance with article 38 section b of the Social Statutes” of Real Madrid, in accordance with that press release.

Pérez was re-elected president in April 2021, after only presenting his candidacy to command the white entity and faced his sixth term at the head of it. The 77-year-old also president of the construction company ACS, presided over Real Madrid from 2000 to 2006, the year in which he resigned, and returned in 2009.

Since 2000, Pérez’s presidency has added 65 titles: 37 in men’s football (7 European Cups, 7 Club World Cups, 6 European Super Cups, 7 Leagues, 3 Copas del Rey and 7 Spanish Super Cups) and 28 in basketball men’s (3 European Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 8 Leagues, 7 Copas del Rey and 9 Spanish Super Cups).
