Final Copa del Rey 2021: how much money does the champion win?

Athletic and Barcelona fight tonight at La Cartuja to win the Copa del Rey. Title that is linked to an economic prize, which is financed by the income from the broadcast of the matches. The figure is not official, but an estimate can be made, since the economic prize depends on the sale of the TV rights. As reported by Iusport, lThe Federation would enter about 32,928,493 million euros for the retransmission of the Cup and Royal Decree Law 5/2015 in its article 8 establishes the percentage that corresponds to each team for participating (depending on the category) and for performance bonus .

According to the Decree Law, 90% of the income from the sale of audiovisual rights is destined to professional football (29,635,643.7 million) and the remaining 10% is destined to the promotion of amateur football and teams of other categories participating in the Cup (3,292,849.3). Of this amount destined to professional football, it is divided with the proportion 90% -10% between the First and Second Division teams. In this way, 26,672,079.3 million are reserved for LaLiga Santander clubs. Of this amount, 50% will be distributed equally among the 20 teams and the rest according to how far they have come in the Copa del Rey in recent seasons. Therefore, All LaLiga Santander teams have made sure to participate in this tournament for 666,801.98 euros. ANDIn other words, Athletic and Real Sociedad have already secured more than half a million just for playing.

As for the other part of the award, the objective premium, is established as follows. The phase reached in the last five seasons is taken into account and each round has a percentage of 50% that corresponds to the First team and that has not been distributed. LThose who reach eighth will enter 2.5%; rooms 6%; semis 9%, runner-up 16% and champion 22%. Taking this distribution into account, the 13,336,039.7 million for premiums by objectives must be divided into five parts of 2,667,207.94 million. In this way, for being champions of the 20-21 edition, they take at least 586,785.75 and the runner-up will win 426,753.27 euros. To which should be added the proportional parts for performance of the last four seasons.
