Cuban wrestler Mijaín López Núñez won his fifth Olympic gold in Greco-Roman this Tuesday at the Paris Games (France), after beating Chilean Yasmani Acosta Fernández 6-0 in the final of the men’s -130 kg category, while American Amit Elor was crowned champion in the women’s -68 kg category.

Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and now Paris 2024. That is the list of gold medals won by Mijaín López, who is 41 years old. At the same weigh-in, the Iranian Amin Mirzazadeh and the Chinese Lingzhe Meng won the two bronzes that were up for grabs and accompanied Acosta Fernández on the podium, who won the silver.

Meanwhile, Amit Elor won the gold medal in his competition by beating Kyrgyzstan’s Meerim Zhumanazarova 3-0 in the final, while Japan’s Nonoka Ozaki and Turkey’s Buse Cavusoglu Tosun took bronze.

And finally, in the men’s -60 kg competition, the title went to Kenichiro Fumita, also from Japan, after defeating Liguo Cao from China 4-1 in the final; at this weigh-in, North Korea’s Se Ung Ri and Zholaman Sharshenbekov from Kyrgyzstan took the two bronze medals.
