FIFA sends one million dollars and humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The FIFA Foundation has allocated one million dollars – more than 900,000 euros – to help the Ukrainian people after the invasion of the country by Russia, after having made a first shipment of humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian Football Federation (UAF).

In a joint response with UEFA, the UAF and the member federations of FIFA, the governing body of world football has reported this Saturday of a new economic contribution. “In order to deal with the conflict, we want to contribute to the cause and support the Ukrainian people and those who have fled the war. The FIFA Foundation is ready to help in cooperation with the Ukrainian and regional football community,” the president said. of FIFA, Gianni Infantino.

Following the request of the UAF, a first shipment of first aid material was sent by road to cover the most pressing needs. In total, the FIFA Foundation has contributed one million dollars to respond to the pressing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and its surroundings. The work is being carried out in collaboration with the football community to help where it is most needed. .

In addition, FIFA has adopted a series of temporary regulatory measures to support professional footballers and clubs in these delicate times.
