FIFA and UEFA will study the possible “undue interference” of the Government for protecting the RFEF

MADRID, 25 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FIFA and UEFA have stated that they will “seek additional information” to study possible “undue interference” by the Government of Spain in the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), supervised since this Thursday by the Higher Sports Council (CSD) due to the crisis of the federative entity due to its judicial investigation and its electoral paralysis.

“FIFA and UEFA are closely following the situation around the RFEF with great concern,” both organizations have stated in a joint press release, following the fact that the CSD has created a specific commission to oversee the functioning of the RFEF during the next few months.

“FIFA and UEFA will seek additional information to assess to what extent the appointment by the CSD of the so-called ‘Supervision, Standardization and Representation Commission’ may affect the RFEF’s obligation to manage its affairs independently and without undue interference from the Government”, has settled the joint statement.
