Absolute normality. Two very important events in four days have brought together the Kings and the President of the Government. Military Easter, on Monday the 6th, and the reception for diplomats accredited in Spain, this Thursday the 9th.
Every year, the January institutional agenda marks these two solemn dates for Felipe VI and Mrs. Letizia as a return to work. Coincidentally, yesterday, January 8, the first inaugural event organized by the Government took place in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Franco’s death. He has also pointed out challenges such as terrorism: “One of the greatest threats to the achievements and rights achieved in terms of justice, security and freedoms. No terrorist act has justification or place in our societies.” The monarch has expressed “the most absolute rejection of the attacks perpetrated a few weeks ago at the Magdeburg Christmas market and in New Orleans. The scourge of terrorism requires strengthening international cooperation as the only effective way to combat this threat to global security.”
The dress code of the event
This reception of the Kings to the diplomats, which took place at the Royal Palace of Madrid, is a solemn event that requires gala etiquette: morning suits for men and long dresses for women.
