Felipe VI and Letizia, in Mallorca

Felipe VI and Queen Letizia became one of the main protagonists at the opening of the Paris Olympic Games on Friday. The kings enjoyed the magnificent spectacle at Trocadero, displaying their spontaneity. However, this Saturday they headed to Mallorca to stay at the Marivent Palace. Thus, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia travelled to Paris to take over from the monarchs at the Olympic Games.

The sisters of the Royal Family will be present at some of the competitions of the Olympic championship. The Zarzuela Palace has not specified how long Leonor and Sofia will be in the city of light, nor the sporting events they will attend.

One of these could be the doubles match between Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, who will face the Argentines Máximo González and Andrés Moltenin on the Philippe Chatrier court at Roland Garros. This is the first time that the heiress to the crown and the princess have attended the Olympic Games, where they will show their support for Spanish athletes.

Minutes after the King visited the Elysée Palace alone, where the presidential couple Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron received all the Heads of State invited to the gala, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia hosted the inauguration of the 2024 Olympic Games. However, this Saturday they began their holiday period at their official residence in La Palma.

Queen Letizia is expected to have her first engagement on the island this Sunday, July 28, at the closing gala of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Festival. Meanwhile, King Felipe VI will embark on the Aifos to begin preparations for the 42nd edition of the Copa del Rey Mapfre.
