The Kings will attend the funeral for the victims of the tragic floods in Valencia on Monday the 9th at 7:00 p.m., as reported by the House. The funeral is organized by the Valencian archbishopric.
This is the third visit of Their Majesties, together, to the DANA ground zero that devastated eighty towns in the community on October 29. The first took place on Sunday the 3rd when the shocking images of Don Felipe and Doña Letizia were produced in Paiporta, in front of outraged neighbors who threw mud and insults. The second, on Tuesday the 19th, just three weeks after the climate crisis that has claimed the lives of more than 220 people. On that occasion they toured the streets of Chiva and Utiel, and in the afternoon, Letur (Albacete) where they were received with gratitude and much emotion. For the King it will be his fourth trip since he held a meeting with the Armed Forces deployed in the area to learn more about the logistical deployment.
The funeral mass that the Kings will attend will take place in the Cathedral of Valencia and will be officiated by the archbishop, Enrique Benavent. During the first weeks, Felipe VI and Letizia cleared events from their agendas to focus all their efforts on collaborating and addressing the most urgent needs of those affected by the tragedy.
LThe Queen held meetings with national social entities, organizations dedicated to health and disability, such as Cáritas Española, the European Network for the Fight against Poverty and Social Exclusion (EAPN-ES), the platforms of Volunteering in Spain, Children in Spain and the Spanish Red Cross.
