MADRID, 25 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) was very happy to have become the leader of La Vuelta 22 this Thursday after the sixth stage: and he assured that it is “one of the best things” he has done “on the bike”.
“I am very happy. I am very proud to be the leader. It is a great dream come true. It is one of the reasons why I have worked so hard for so long,” Evenepoel said.
“What I have shown today may be one of the best things I have ever done on the bike. On a high finish, achieving this performance with the help of the team is a dream come true,” he added about stage six, where who finished second, 15 seconds behind this Thursday’s winner, Jay Vine.
“This is what we are in La Vuelta for. We can only be proud of what we have shown today and I hope we can maintain these good feelings,” he said after donning the red jersey.
