Euskaltel-Euskadi withdraws from the Tour of Slovenia after suffering the theft of all its bicycles

Euskaltel-Euskadi did not start the fifth and final stage of the Tour of Slovenia and was forced to retire after the van where they kept their cyclists’ bicycles was stolen, the Basque team confirmed this Sunday.

The theft occurred during the early hours of Saturday to Sunday, at the team hotel. The thieves stole the van with all the material inside, such as wheels, tools, easels, compressors and massage tables.

Among everything stolen were the 14 bicycles of the seven riders present in the race: Xabier Mikel Azparren, Carlos Canal, Unai Iribar, Xabier Isasa, Txomin Juaristi, Andoni López de Abetxuko and Gotzon Martín.

“The team’s management has filed the corresponding complaint with the authorities and now trusts in the collaboration of the citizens to find all the material. Unfortunately, the seven orange cyclists have had to put an end to their participation in the test,” said Euskaltel. -Euskadi.
