The Cameroonian midfielder Wifrid Kaptoum, who has played on loan from Real Betis at UD Almería since last January, is in the orbit of RCD Espanyol, who wants his loan from the Verdiblanco club.
Kaptoum, 24 years old and trained in the quarry of FC Barcelona -to which came from the hand of Samuel Eto’o at the age of twelve- he joined the Real Betis subsidiary in January 2018 and since then has participated in a total of 21 games with the Real Betis first team (12 with the subsidiary) and 9 with Almería, a team in which he held the title in January until a muscle injury in June caused him to miss the final stretch of the season.
Kaptoum arrived at Real Betis with the freedom letter and Almería was left with a purchase option of 3 million euros, which was mandatory in the event of a promotion and which, in the end, has not been exercised.
The Cameroonian will have to join Betis training next week, like his partner Francis, although as announced by Onda Cero Barcelona, Espanyol could be his destination next season.
