Espanyol asks to challenge the derby for improper alignment of Lewandowski

RCD Espanyol has asked to challenge the match against FC Barcelona on December 31 at the Spotify Camp Nou (1-1), corresponding to matchday 15 of LaLiga Santander, for “improper alignment” of the Blaugrana striker Robert Lewandowski, who was sanctioned but played by a precautionary of ordinary justice.

“RCD Espanyol has filed a complaint with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to challenge the match against FC Barcelona, ​​corresponding to the 15th LaLiga, for improper alignment,” the blue and white club announced.

The entity ensures that before the start of the match, the club notified “in good faith” both the referee Mateu Lahoz and the RFEF itself about the presence of Robert Lewandowski, who “had to serve a sanction after his expulsion for a double yellow in the previous working day”.

“RCD Espanyol, as announced on the eve of the match, will use all the resources at its disposal to defend its interests and that of our fans,” the club assured.
