MADRID, 26 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Mexican center back César Montes will play for RCD Espanyol after the Catalan club and CF Monterrey have reached an agreement for the player’s signing, according to a statement.
“We inform our fans and the media that we have reached an agreement to transfer the player César Montes to RCD Espanyol de Barcelona”, advanced the ‘striped’ group.
The formalization of the signing will be subject to the medical examinations that Montes, 25, must pass satisfactorily. The Mexican defender has traveled to Spain this Monday for this medical protocol.
The Monterrey youth squad has made 264 appearances for the Mexican club since his debut in 2015-2016, and has scored 13 goals, including the first goal in the history of the BBVA Stadium. His record includes one League (2019) and two Cups (2017 and 2020) in Mexico, and two Concacaf Champions Leagues (2019 and 2021).
As an international, he has worn the Mexico national team shirt 44 times, scoring one goal. In the recent World Cup in Qatar, he added his first participation in a World Cup.
