Espanyol and Eibar fail to lead and Elche takes second

MADRID, 10 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Espanyol tied (1-1) this Sunday with Alcorcón on matchday 30 of LaLiga Hypermotion and failed in its option to take the lead just as Eibar fell (0-1) with Burgos, while Elche surpassed (0 -1) to Villarreal B to place second.

The parakeet team took the lead in Santo Domingo, with a goal from Braithwaite after the hour mark, but the Madrid team tied through Chema shortly after. Thus, Alcorcón added a valuable point in their fight for salvation, while the Catalans missed the option of taking the lead.

All in all, and in the absence of leader Leganés playing this Monday against Amorebieta, the direct promotion zone is compressed, with 50 points for the ‘pepineross’, with one game less, for the 50 also for Elche, 49 for Espanyol, 49 from Eibar, 48 from Valladolid and also 48 from a Burgos team that also signed up for the direct ticket.

Elche has the best dynamics, with its third consecutive victory this Sunday, in its visit to the ‘Submarino’ subsidiary. Nico Catro put the visitors ahead after fifteen minutes, again a goal for the people from Elche, and served up a well-deserved victory for his team.

Meanwhile, Eibar also failed to take the lead in Ipurua after falling to a strong Burgos team, capable of unsettling the Basques and taking the win with an own goal from Peru Nolaskoain. From dreaming of the ‘playoff’ positions, the Castilian team now becomes a contender for direct promotion to First Division.

On the other hand, Racing de Santander does not give up on that dream of the ‘Top 6’ after its win (4-2) against a Tenerife that forgot what it had achieved in recent days, while Sporting took a step back (1- 0) against a Levante that already knows what it is to win with Felipe Miñambres on its bench, breaking the bad streak to try to catch the train of the promotion zone.
