Enric Mas confirms his recovery and will be at the start of La Vuelta

The Spanish cyclist Enric Mas, from the Movistar Team, has confirmed this Saturday his complete physical recovery and also that he will be at the start of the Vuelta a España 2023, scheduled for August 26 in Barcelona, ​​as the kick off of a race that will end on the 17th September in Madrid.

“We continue preparing for La Vuelta at a good pace, with the hope of arriving in the best conditions when leaving Barcelona. To do this, we have decided to prioritize training over competition,” Mas commented from his profile on the social network X (former Twitter).

Mas fractured his right scapula on July 1 and suffered superficial abrasions on his arms and legs, during the opening stage of the Tour de France, as a result of a fall 23 kilometers from finishing the medium-mountain route that started and finished in Bilbao.


“I would have really liked to be in the Vuelta a Burgos and I wish you all a good race”, added the Spaniard in his tweet, alluding to the squad that the Movistar Team will put into contention from August 15 to 19 during the XLV Burgos event in the male category.

After that Vuelta a Burgos, Mas will participate with the ‘telephone’ group in the Vuelta a España. His presence will give an already demanding peloton a higher level, after confirming that the Danish Jonas Vingegaard will also ride the Spanish ‘big’ with the Jumbo-Visma.
