MADRID, 13 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish duo made up of Emma García and Pau Ribes won the silver medal this Saturday at the European Swimming Championships that are taking place in Rome by winning silver in the Mixed Free Duo modality of artistic swimming, the same medal which was posted in the previous edition of the continental championship.
The Spaniards presented the choreography for the Budapest World Cup in June -the musical ‘Cats’- and they did not disappoint with their 84.7667 points. The Italians Minisini-Ruggiero went gold in the heat of their public with 89.7333 points, while the bronze went to Slovakia (Solymosy-Solymosyova).
In this way, both Emma and Pau got even for the fourth place achieved in the world event. A medal that increases the Spanish track record after Fernando Díaz del Río’s historic silver this Friday in the ‘Technical Solo’ discipline, a test that premiered at the Rome event.
“We have gone out for all, we have enjoyed a lot. We created this choreography in the middle of the pandemic and it has been like a tribute to say goodbye to her. One thing to add would be the score, which from our point of view has been a ‘tad’ low”, acknowledged Pau Ribes at the end of the race.
For her part, Emma García highlighted the good role harvested. “It went very well. It was the last time we swam this duo. Beyond the score, which is a bit low compared to the World Cup. We wanted to say goodbye as best as possible. A title is a title,” she sentenced.
