Emery: “The more demanding the match, the better”

MADRID, 12 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Villarreal CF coach, Unai Emery, explained his team’s enthusiasm for the Conference League with a duel that he hopes will help them “grow” this Thursday against Austria Vienna, in addition to securing first place and going through to the crosses.

“In the home game we saw that Austria Vienna have quality players. They are a team that forces you to defend low with wingers and that is used to success in their country and that is why they push upwards. They play modern team games and tomorrow they will want to go one step further. It will be a nice match and, the more demanding it is for us, the better”, he said at a press conference.

The yellow team is the undefeated leader of Group C and last week they beat the Austrian team 5-0. “I expect a different game from last week. At home they are giving a good level, they play good football and with the support of their fans it will be difficult. We want to be first in the group and also continue working as a team to grow”, he stated. .

“Tomorrow is going to be a nice match and, the more demanding, the better for us. Playing away from home has always been more difficult. It is true that we have found good answers, but we have not been able to maintain that regularity, but we want to compete for this competition, to be first in the group and establish players within the team”, he added.

On the other hand, Emery referred to possible rotations. “There are players who are doing a great job in this competition, which is very good for us to make them feel important. Tomorrow there will be players who don’t usually play in the Conference. There will be some necessary changes to get the game together”, he commented.
