ElPozo, Barça’s rival in the final

ElPozo Murcia qualified for the final of the 33rd edition of the Spanish Cup after thrashing Viña Albali-Valdepeñas (2-5) in a second half in which the two teams lost respect after the first 20 minutes with too much tactical rigor.

Diego Giustozzi’s team will face Barça this Sunday in the title match at the Olivo Arena in Jaén, who in the other match beat Movistar Inter, the still champion, 6-4.

The Murcians, who have not won a title since 2010, imposed their ability to define and in the final moments of the first half, in the 18th minute, they opened the scoring with a goal from Gadeia, a double penalty, while Viña Albali had occasions through Lolo and Rafa Rato.

In the second period, the game broke down, especially when Taynan perfectly defined an arrival, making it 0-2 after 26 minutes, but Viña Albali, finalist in 2020 against Barça, reacted 60 seconds later with the penalty converted by Bateria.

It was a mirage because Gadeia, who scored two goals, beat Edu from a free kick in which the international goalkeeper could have done something else.

The 1-3 was a hard blow for the team coached by David Ramos, because ElPozo was comfortable and was lethal in every attack, so Darío, in the 36th minute, made it 1-4, Ivi gave Viña Albali hope with the 2-4 in minute 37 and Alberto closed the account in minute 38 to place the Murcians in the final.
