The president of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), Elisa Aguilar, reiterated that the players and fans will be the axis of her work and assured, in her official presentation after renewing the position this Tuesday for four more years, that it is “Key” is the renewal of the national selectors, Sergio Scariolo and Miguel Méndez, until 2028.

Elisa Aguilar, who became president on October 2, 2023 after the departure of Jorge Garbajosa to FIBA Europe, expressed her satisfaction at “normalizing” that a woman holds the position of head of the FEB.
“My wish is that this presidency belongs to the people. I think we have made a lot of progress in this situation after 411,000 licenses were added in 2023, 9 percent more. My commitment is that there will always be a basketball in the yards and schools,” he declared.
Aguilar celebrated the qualification for the Paris Olympic Games of the women’s team and hoped that the men’s team will achieve it in the Pre-Olympic, from July 2 to 7 in Valencia, to reissue the medals from previous editions, including the “so inspiring” one of Los Angeles’84.
