Elche CF has taken advantage of the stoppage of the First Division competition to carry out maintenance and improvement of the Martínez Valero stadium turf.
As reported by the Elche entity this Thursday, the Servi-Cizarra company began with these replanting and improvement works last Saturday, after the match against Celta de Vigo.
During the last days, the pitch has been aired with a solid spike to favor the rooting of the grass; It has been reseeded with 400 kg of English ryegrass to give it a higher density and sandblasting with silica sand has been carried out to cover the seed.
These works are part of the plan to improve the quality of the pitch that began with the end of the 2019-2020 season and whose objective, according to the club, is that Martínez Valero “present an impeccable appearance”.
Elche will not step on their playing field again until next November 28, when they face Cádiz in a league match.
