Eintracht and Spartak Moscow sneak in as first

The last day of the Europa League is being vibrant and in the first shift of the afternoon the first four groups have already been decided. Some of them already had little at stake but in others there were up to three teams in the fight to qualify for the knockout phase. It should be remembered that those who pass as seconds have an additional round (against teams that fall from the Champiosn League). This is how the groups have gone:

GROUP A: Lyon and Rangers

Lyon and Rangers qualified first and second respectively last round and today tied 1-1 in the match between them. For their part, Sparta Prague managed to beat Brondby at home and secure their qualification for the Conference.

GROUP B: Monaco and Real Sociedad

In addition to the victory of Real Sociedad, which allowed them to pass as second, Monaco, already with the first place secured, tied at the home of Sturm Graz. Surprisingly, Niko Kovac came out with several starters such as Ben Yedder or Thouameni.

GROUP C: Spartak Moscow and Naples

Napoli won crazy and Spartak Moscow did the same at Legia’s home thanks to a goal from Bakaev. Spartak goalkeeper Selikhov saved Pekhart from a penalty in the 98th minute to give his team victory and qualify. That goal would have qualified Leicester. This victory allows him to pass as the first of this great group on a day in which he could have been even a game or third.

GRUPO D: Eintracht y Olympiacos

Eintracht tied and with that it serves to secure the first place. In any case, defeat would also have served him well as Olympiacos lost at home to Royarl Antwerp 1-0. In this way, the Greeks pass as seconds.
