Eibar returns to the ‘Playoff’ in Albacete and Cádiz gets its first victory

MADRID, 9 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Eibar returned to the promotion play-off spots on Monday with their victory in Albacete (0-1), in a fourth round of LaLiga Hypermotion in which Cádiz achieved their first victory of the season at Castellón (3-1).

After the first quarter of an hour at the Carlos Belmonte, the gunsmiths managed to take the lead after the local goalkeeper, Raúl Lizoain, came out to clear a ball and deflected it into his own goal, confused by the bounce (min.17).

Lazo and Jon García came close to equalising before the break and Higinio missed a great chance in the goalmouth after the restart, but the team from La Mancha came away empty-handed. Eibar have now moved up to fourth place with eight points, two more than Alba, who have suffered their second consecutive defeat.

At the Municipal de Castalia, Cádiz settled their match against Castellón with six magical minutes after the break. A double from Chris Ramos (min.49 and 56) and a penalty goal from Rubén Alcaraz (min.53) sealed the match for Paco López’s team.

Israel Suero scored from the penalty spot in stoppage time, but the ‘Orelluts’ were unable to avoid defeat, which interrupts a series of two games of scoring and leaves them fourteenth with four points, just one less than the team from Cadiz, who achieved their first victory of the season.
