Eibar and Levante fight for the coveted leadership of Second

MADRID, 15 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Eibar defends its recently reached leadership of LaLiga SmartBank this Sunday against Levante in a direct duel with the ‘granota’ option of assaulting the top, on matchday 21 in which Las Palmas, Burgos and Deportivo Alavés await their option.

The armored team took the top of the table in Second Division last weekend with their victory against Oviedo and the setbacks of the Canaries, Burgos and Alava. Now, Gaizka Garitano’s team aspires to its fourth victory in a row against Levante that has not lost a game for two months.

The ‘granota’ team is also a candidate for the leadership of Eibar, with 35 points to the 36 of the Basques. The fight for direct promotion is tighter than ever for matchday 21, with Las Palmas (35), Burgos (34) and Alavés (34) involved.

The Canarian team lost the position of honor in Gran Canaria against Albacete, so they will try to add three again in the duel they have on Saturday at home against Villarreal B. Meanwhile, Burgos, who have lost two straight , receives Huesca and Alavés, with three defeats in the last three games, will a priori have another affordable duel against Málaga.

The ‘Top 6’, with 32 points, is closed by a Granada that looks strong with Paco López and that will seek to continue being so against Lugo, knowing that access to the ‘playoffs’ is also in a handkerchief, with Cartagena and Albacete as the biggest pursuers and matches also against teams below like Racing and Ibiza.
