The former player and sports manager Eduardo Pascual will be the new sports director of Monbus Obradoiro after reaching an agreement with the Galician club to take charge of the sports field, in a new challenge in the Endesa League.
“Monbus Obradoiro and Eduardo Pascual have reached an agreement for the Bilbao native to become the entity’s new sports director,” announced the Santiago de Compostela club.
Pascual, a graduate in journalism from the University of the Basque Country and an Executive MBA Master from the IE Business School in Madrid, is an expert in Sports Data Analysis and Big Data from the University of Valladolid.
After retiring as a professional player in 2000, he took charge of the Valencia Basket academy for two seasons. In his career as a manager, he was general manager of Burgos and Cáceres and sports director of Valladolid and Estudiantes, as well as being a scout in Europe for the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves between 2016 and 2019.
He is also CEO of the Sport Events company since 1995, which is in charge of the organization and management of national and international camps, sporting events, basketball programs, business sponsorship, sponsorship and institutional relations.
At the Obradoiro, Pascual will replace José Luis Mateo, who concludes his stage as general director of Monbus Obradoiro this season, in addition to being in charge of the entity’s sports management in the Endesa League.
