MADRID, 10 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The coach of Borussia Dortmund, Edin Terzic, recognized “the potential” of Sevilla, his next rival this Tuesday in the fourth day of the Champions League, which will change “some things” under the orders of Jorge Sampaoli, the team’s new coach Seville.
“Something will change for Sevilla due to the new coach. They did a good performance against Athletic Club this weekend, you can see their potential”, explained Edin Terzic at the press conference prior to the match at Signal Iduna Park.
The situation of the German team’s squad has improved ahead of this week’s double game against Sevilla. For this reason, Terzic is bringing back several players who were absent in Borussia’s 1-4 victory at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
“Mats Hummels is feeling much better, we assume it will be enough for tomorrow. Thomas Meunier will return and Gio Reyna will be considered in the team again,” explained the coach, who will bring Gregor Kobel back. “He will go back to goal if he tells me later that he sits down one hundred percent,” he claimed.
By contrast, the return of captain Marco Reus seems unlikely after being sidelined for just over three weeks with an ankle ligament injury. “An infection has set him back in rehab. I’m pretty pessimistic that it’ll be enough for tomorrow,” he acknowledged.
Thanks to last Wednesday’s victory in Seville (4-1), Dortmund (6 points) can secure qualification for the round of 16 on matchday four of the group stage.
“We got a good starting position. But that doesn’t count for anything if we don’t take a step forward. If we put our forces on the pitch, we will cause them problems again,” Terzic said. The national player Niklas Süle seconded him: “We want to mark a milestone and take a giant step towards the round of 16,” he concluded.
