Édgar and Borja Sánchez, casualties at Real Oviedo due to coronavirus

He Real Oviedo resumed work this Monday with the absences of Edgar González and Borja Sanchez, drops that will be maintained in the coming days after confirming their positives by COVID-19 in the tests to which the footballers of the Asturian team were subjected before returning to training.

Both players are isolated in their homes and have confirmed themselves both the positive result of their tests and their state of health, which is good in both cases, although Borja Sánchez has shown some symptoms of the disease.

“I had been in home isolation for a few days as a precaution, with mild symptoms, but I feel fine and I am following the instructions of the authorities,” said the forward in an official statement published on the club's social networks.

In addition to the pivot, who was already out for the duel against Mallorca due to suspension (Sunday, 9 pm), and the winger from Oviedo, Ziganda had two more absences in the session this Monday: Simone Grippo and Gabriel Brazao.

The central defender continues to recover from some annoyances that have made him work on the sidelines since before the Christmas break, while the Brazilian goalkeeper has a special permit from the club, which explains why he has not yet returned to work at El Requexón.

The Oviedo squad, which was attended by Prada, Cueto, Joselu and Ugarte in the first session of the day, will return to exercise in the afternoon session (16 hours) with the aim of recovering sensations before Mallorca's visit to the NMR Carlos Tartiere the next Sunday.
