Doukouré He was delighted this Tuesday to have played his first minutes of the season last Sunday after having recovered from the ruptured Achilles tendon and remarked that not all athletes have the same luck as him.

The Ivorian player recalled the case of his former teammate Iván López, who last summer left football at the age of 27 after having caused several injuries, and stressed that he went through “difficult times” like his.

Doukouré admitted that the injury suffered in July to the Achilles tendon when he played on loan at Huesca was “very difficult to fit in” because he had just recovered from a serious knee injury suffered in February 2019.

“In Huesca I had a lot of faith and positive energy to come back and when you fall again it is very difficult. That injury has touched me a little more, because when you do everything to come back and in the end you can't, you have to try again, “he said.

The Levante midfielder acknowledged that after playing last Sunday in San Sebastián he has “a very strange feeling after so long” off the pitch. “My day to day has really changed a bit, for me it is a great joy and it is something so positive that I cannot explain it,” he commented.

“I hope it is the beginning of something new and that the beauty is yet to come, that it is a new stage. It is very difficult to say what has been the most difficult, “he added.

Doukouré wanted to thank Levante, Huesca, Paco López's coaching staff, the doctors, his teammates, the fans and, above all, his family. “Levante has been incredible with me, supporting me every day,” he said.
