Doña Letizia, a diva at the Liceu with a recycled dress and sapphire earrings

The kings have attended this Friday the gala for the 175th Anniversary of the Círculo del Liceo. An evening dedicated to art and culture for which Letizia She has chosen an outfit that is simple, sophisticated and without surprises (unlike her last choices) to remind us that less is always more.

The queen has rescued from her wardrobe a blue klein dress with a mermaid silhouette and a discreet train with dropped straps and a slight central pleat. It is a design of Carolina Herrera which premiered in July 2017, during his state visit to the United Kingdom. She then complemented it with a matte handbag and impressive jewels (the floral tiara, the twin Cartier bracelets and full diamond and sapphire earrings), in addition to the protocol band of the Order of Carlos III fastened with the Flor de Lis brooch.

This time, however, she has lightened up the look by simplifying the earrings themselves (removing the ‘tail’ and leaving only the ‘body’) and replacing the stunning twin bracelets with a simpler one to match the earrings. In addition, she has changed the bag for a metallic one, to match the sandals.

The King Felipe VI and his wife have been received by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta; the Government delegate in Catalonia, Maria Eugènia Gay; the first deputy mayor of the Barcelona City Council, Jaume Collboni and the president of the Círculo, Francisco Gaudier, among others. The gala, which was attended by 420 guests, included a speech by Gaudier and the awarding of the Liceu Circle Gold Medals, as well as a recital, the screening of a documentary on the history of the club and a cocktail at the Hall of Mirrors.
