After 11 a.m., King Juan Carlos left the house of his good friend Peter Fields to go to the Club Náutico de Sanxenxo and start a new day of regattas. Upon his arrival at the port, the emeritus has met a very special visitor for him: that of his daughter Elena.
Victoria Federica and Froilán’s mother waited for him for a few minutes at the port and, upon his arrival, they greeted each other with great affection. Many people have witnessed the reunion firsthand. Shouts of “Long live Spain!” and “Long live the king!”.
Meanwhile, Queen Sofía and Felipe VI are in Palma, awaiting the landing of Queen Letizia and her daughters, scheduled for this weekend. In recent days there has been speculation about a great reunion of the infantas Elena and Cristina with his brother, Felipe VI, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Letizia, in Marivent, although nothing is further from the truth.
Contrary to what has been published, the two sisters and their children will not spend the first week of August in the Palma palace. If anything, they will arrive from mid-August onwards, when the kings Felipe and Letizia are no longer there, to spend the rest of the holidays with their mother. Thus, Queen Sofía’s dream of reliving those vacations with her three children and her eight grandchildren in Palma will have to wait… The Infanta Cristina, as we have already stated, has opted for a European destination to go away vacations with her children.
King Juan Carlos, for his part, has returned from Abu Dhabi, where he has established his residence for three years. Around one o’clock in the afternoon, the Bribón (the ship of the emeritus) has cast off to begin the second day of king’s navigation through the Pontevedra estuary. The Infanta Elena has also gone sailing with the auxiliary launch called ‘Cristina’.
Felipe VI, for his part, is still active with the crew of ‘Aifos’ in Palma de Mallorca. He has his sights set on the Copa del Rey Mapfre. This Saturday, the father of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía appeared in the bay of Mallorca to continue training with the entire crew. The Copa del Rey de Vela is held between this Saturday, July 29, until next Saturday, August 5.
